Cat's claw, Una de Gato, Uncaria tomentosa
Immune system, inflammation, Alzheimer's
Cat's claw, also known as cat's claw, is a medicinal plant widely distributed in South and Central America and is particularly versatile – it is therefore affectionately called the 'sacred plant of the rainforest' or 'miracle plant'. The bark of this liana-like plant is used to produce the powder.
Cat's claw is an excellent plant for strengthening the immune system. It also has many anti-inflammatory properties and has shown remarkable positive effects in cancer research. The plant has antioxidant properties and contains, among other things, oxindole alkaloids, which can damage tumor cells, as well as procyanidins (OPCs), which can fight free radicals and protect cells. Cat's claw also contains sterols, which inhibit the formation of proteins that play a major role in the development of Alzheimer's disease.
This plant comes from wild harvesting.
